PUBLIC NOTICE

LETTER SENT TO RESIDENTS WITH 1" & 2" WATER METERS:

NOTICE OF RATE INCREASE

REGARDING 1” & 2” METERS & WATER RATES

THIS LETTER IS TO SERVE AS A 30-DAY NOTICE

Dear Town of Wilton utility customer,

This letter serves as a 30-day notice to inform you of the Town Council’s rate increase for customers with 1” & 2” water meters. These increases will appear on your October 2022 bill. The meter will be read on or around September 15, 2022 and the date due will be October 15, 2022. These new rates are expected to increase the monthly utility bill from $19.96 to $25.27 with usage up to 3,000 gallons of water for 1” water meters. The monthly water bill for a 2” meter will increase from $19.96 to $73.50 with usage up to 3,000 gallons of water. Additional step rates will be included with this notice. The former rates were based off of rates for ¾ inch house meters. Your property has a 1” or 2” meter.

Operating costs have increased due to the cost of supplies and materials, as well as water treatment costs. The Town Council is committed to managing these cost and staying efficient while upholding the Town’s commitment to a sustainable future.

If you have questions about the rate changes, please contact:

• Town of Wilton at 205-665-2021

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Email [email protected]

Thank you,

Wilton Town Council
